I can't say enough good things about this band. I first heard them on Australian internet radio and loved everything I heard, but the import prices were exorbitant, or CDs unavailable. Recently, I was able to acquire this collection which encompasses selections from several albums. I'm not sorry I did. Thomas Walsh is a brilliant composer and vocalist. The songs have harmonies so lush you could walk barefoot through them, with structures so solid and well-built you could reside inside them for a lifetime. It's a travesty Pugwash are not better known stateside. This collection is a great place to become familiar with a band that is sure to end up in heavy rotation on your playlist. Have fun identifying Walsh's influences on each track (XTC, ELO, Beach Boys, hmmmm, is that The Byrds there? Badfinger? This little bit sounds like The Association). Earworms all. Don't be fooled: Despite the heavy influences, this band stands on it's own feet without mimicry. More homage. So, sing along. Play a little air guitar. Dance like everyone is watching. You won't be disappointed. There's not a dud in the bunch.
