My surface hot lamp was staying on all of the time. The range is only 2 years old. When checking the resistance I found that the large burner had the bad temperature switch. All of the parts houses were out of the large burner but had plenty of the small burners in stock. What that tells me is that the large ones were all defective and having the same issue. That's why I decided to buy another brand. The replacement GE part is probably just as bad as the original. The GE appliances that came with my home are not well made. After 1.5 years I had to replace the baskets in the dish washer because they were rusted. GE Appliances is now owned by a Chinese company and I will be buying an American brand the next time. Probably Whirlpool. I have had good experiences with their appliances.
