This was a very enjoyable read. It started off with a woman who can't remember anything that's happened for the past couple of years. Everything from her undergraduate time at the college and further in the past, though, she does remember. So why not those couple of years?Quickly, we're given the bad guy in the story, and along the way, we're given other things that don't seem to add up. I particularly liked the "too human-like" trees, which added a nice spooky feel to the story. There's also a crow that shows up and disappears and another creature that she only sees. It's a steady build up with tension and suspense that makes for good fiction. There's always that line between too fast and too slow that writes have to balance, and Rami did a good job of getting that balance just right. I wasn't bored once, and I don't feel the story was ever rushed. The thing I like most about this book is the ending. I've read my fair share of horror novels over the years, and as much as I hate to say it, the "twist" at the end is often predictable. I was very pleased that this book wasn't like that. The ending was fabulous. It's one of the best I've ever read. This is an entertaining book that I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys the thriller or horror genre.
